NBVC Mud Run
The 2020 Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC) Mud Run is back!
The obstacle course was built by U.S. Navy Seabees stationed here at NBVC and includes a flat land run transitioning into the obstacle course. There you will be challenged by tube crawls, over-under logs, hill climbs, tires, balance logs, an A-frame climb, wall climb, cargo net climb, more logs & tubes, underwire crawl, ropes over a pond, water obstacles, and plenty of mud. There will be one competitive wave for official time. All other waves will be for fun. We will award our top three Male and top three female finishers.
All participants in the Mud Run will receive a finisher’s medal and an event t-shirt.

Run For a Good Cause:
This year we are shining a light on Sexual Assault Awareness and Child Abuse prevention. April is designated as both Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Child Abuse Prevention Month. In partnership with the NBVC Fleet & Family Support Program and the Navy Child and Youth Programs, we are excited to include a FREE 1-mile family fun Color Run and 1-Mile Kids Run. All registration for the 1-mile family fun color run and kids run will be day-of, starting at 9 am. Fun Run start is at 12:30 pm.
Bring your friends, as spectators are welcome to come out and cheer on runners. The festivities will also include food trucks, Live Dj, activities, vendors, resource tables, and more. Public access will be available through the Victoria Ave. gate starting at 9 am. The gate will close to inbound public traffic at 12 pm so get here early.
The first wave starts at 10 am with the following waves every 30 min. All waves have a 200 person max.
9 am Gate open to the public / Check-in opens
9:45 am Welcome address from CAPT Chism, NBVC Commanding Officer
10 am Wave 1 Start (Timed competitive wave)
10:30 am Wave 2 start
11 am Wave 3 start
11:30 am Wave 4 start
12 pm Wave 5 start
12:30 pm 1-Mile Family Fun Color Run & Kids Fun start
Wear clothing appropriate for physical activity or what you’d wear going to the gym. Consider the elements you will be dealing with; mud, (duh), water, obstacles, wood, ropes confined spaces etc.
It is recommended (not required) that you bring gloves for the rope obstacles, as rope burn may occur. It is also recommended that you bring a change of clothes and towels for clean-up. Depending on the weather, it may be cold and not comfortable to stick around in wet clothes.
As a reminder, tyhe following items are prohibited: Weapons, large coolers, pets (with the exception of certified service dogs), all illegal drugs including marijuana, drones, and masks.
