The Point Mugu Aquatics Center is a heated outdoor swimming pool which is open year-round. Please be aware that our hours of opperation change seasionally. Winter hours are taylored accomidate most on-base work schedules allowing you the opportunity to get a workout in before your work day begins or during lunch. Please remember to bring your own towel.
Amenities include:
- Large locker rooms with showers (lockers are day use only)
- Kick boards
- Swim paddles and fins
- Lounge chairs
- Large lawn area with picnic tables
We are located adjcent to a set of tennis courts. Players are welcome to use the pool facilities to freshen up.
During the summer months we offer swim lessons for all ages, this includes adults. We offer extended recreation swim hours and a shallow kiddie pool for your younger children. Lifeguards are always present to assist you.
We offer a Jr. Lifeguard program during the summer months. Participants will be taught the skills needed to become a lifeguard, such as how to use rescue buoys and rescue boards, identify rip currents, rescue prevention, CPR & first aid just to name a few.
The Jr. Lifeguards will also compete against other Jr. Lifeguard programs in friendly competitions that include; run-swim-run, paddle relay and a long distance swim. Included in the cost of the program is a day trip to one of the Channel Islands.
