Child Development Center - Port Hueneme

Our Child Development Centers (CDC) at Point Mugu and Port Hueneme, are open to children ages 6 weeks to 5 years, for full-time care. Our classrooms provide fun, inclusive and engaging environments, individualized learning experiences that meet the needs of each child, and great opportunities for socialization! Caregivers receive extensive training in the development of infants, toddlers, and preschoolers to ensure an enriching daycare experience for young Navy family members. Program elements include age-appropriate activities, participation in the USDA food program, and monthly training requirements of staff.

Curriculum and Assessment

All CDCs use The Creative Curriculum® as the primary classroom curriculum and Teaching Strategies GOLD® for ongoing child assessment. This is how we ensure classroom quality, promote an age and developmentally appropriate learning environment, facilitate relationship building between staff and families, support the professional development of teachers, and provide a way to measure a child’s progress.

Accreditation & Certification

CDCs are required to be nationally accredited through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and must pass an annual DoD inspection.
