Naval Base Ventura County MWR is thrilled to host a live concert for the troops and families of NBVC. This one night only country music concert event Features a live performance by country music star Russell Dickerson with an opening performance by Cody Bradley.

Thanks to MWR, Navy Entertainment, and our presenting Sponsor - GOVX admission and parking for this event is free for all base personnel. This includes active duty, spouses, dependents, reservists, retirees, DoD Civilians, and any guest(s) sponsored by an authored patron listed above.

There are no physical or digital tickets needed for attendance but we do ask that you please register using the link below so that we may track attendance. Registration is optional, all guests will be admitted into the concert area regardless of registration. Click Here for free Registration



About Operation MWR

Throughout the summer, Navy MWR’s Community Recreation and Navy Entertainment programs will celebrate the resiliency of our military service members and their families, foster a sense of community, and provide an opportunity to connect with friends and others for a day of entertainment, rest and relaxation. Events will include live entertainment, recreational activities, food, games, and more!
 


Concert News:

Mugu Shuttle Service

Military and families living aboard NBVC Point Mugu who don't want to drive to Hueneme for the concert may hop on our free shuttle. Personnel will get free round trip bus transportation from Point Mugu to Port Hueneme. Departure time is 4:30 pm from the Surfnet parking lot (bldg 20). The return trip to Mugu will depart following the concert at 9:30 pm from the Duke's Place parking lot. Space is limited to the first 55 persons. First come-First served. Patrons my store chairs and any approved additional items in the bus's cargo area.


Event Location Information:

MWR is taking over the parade grounds of NBVC Port Hueneme aka “The Grinder” for this special event. The NBVC Port Hueneme Grinder is located at the corner of 23rd Avenue and Pacific Road aboard NBVC Port Hueneme. There will be several entry/screening points guests can enter through, please look for the signs.  Please do not attempt to bring in any food or beverages. Food and beverage sales will be available onsite. Porta pottys will be onsite including wash stations and ADA units.

Directions:

Enter NBVC Port Hueneme from the Knott gate. Continue straight along 23rd Ave. The Grinder will be on your left hand side just as you pass Harris St.

The Victoria gate will be open for inbound traffic from 5 pm - 7 pm. At the conclusion of the concert Victoria gate will be reopend for outbound traffic only. If entering via Victora gate turn left onto 23rd ave, continue straight along 23rd Ave. the Grinder will be on your right hand side just as you pass Pacific Rd.

Seating
Guests are encouraged to bring your own lawn/camping chairs as there will not be any seating provided. We ask that all guests refrain from setting up their chair(s) directly in front of the stage as this area will be for standing room only. Ushers will be onsite to aid in keeping the stage area clear from chairs for those who wish to stand up close to the stage.

Parking
Parking for this event is free, all guests are encouraged to car pool. Guests may park in any of the parking lots that surround the Grinder. Lots can be found along Harris St. / 23rd Ave / Pacific Rd. Limited parking will be available on the grinder nearest the NGIS/barracks accessible via 28th Ave.

VIP parking is reserved for VIP Chalet ticket holders and will be located in the Navy Federal Credit Union parking lot. Please pay attention to all traffic control and parking officers/personnel. No Navy Endorsement Implied.

Road closures by Force Protection may be in place for pedestrian safety. Please pay attention to all traffic control officers/personnel. When more information becomes available we will update this section.

Food and Beverage
Several food trucks will be in attendance with various choices for our guests. MWR will be operating a large bar that will include soft drinks and water as well as beer, wine, and cocktails. Food trucks will accept cash but the MWR bar is cashless. The nearest ATM is located on the corner of 23rd Ave and Harris St. at the Navy Federal Credit Union. ATM service is walk up only. The parking lot will be closed for VIP parking. Please plan accordingly. No Navy Endorsement Implied.

Prohibited Items:
Pets, Outside food or beverages, Drugs including marijuana, Weapons including knives, Coolers of any size, & Drones/UAV's. Other restrictions may apply. All persons entering the venue are subject to search. Military Working Dogs will be present.
